Past newsletters

Our heritage project has already uncovered a treasure trove of past WNS newsletters dating back to the creation of the society in 1995, which had been saved by the previous treasurer, Tony Olavesen.

We have stared to digitise these and make electronic copies of the text. Over the coming months we will make them available here so the contents can be searched and enjoyed online. As you’d expect, some of the material is outdated, and some of the authors and subjects are sadly no longer with us. Please make discreet inquiries before contacting anyone mentioned here.

We are currently missing newsletters from 2017-2020. If you have any of these stashed away in a drawer, please do share them so we can add them and make our collection complete and shareable.

    A world-beating Norwegian-Welsh partnership visited the Norwegian Church in September 2009: Former World Rally Champion Petter Solberg and his Welsh co-driver Phil Mills brought their Subaru car to the Norwegian Church for a photocall before the start of Wales Rally GB.

    Welcome to the Spring newsletter of 2005, a year when celebrations are taking place both in Norway and in Cardiff. Norway is celebrating its centenary as an independent nation and Cardiff is celebrating one hundred years as a city. To mark the occasion, many of the contributors to this newsletter have highlighted events from Norway’s past.

    Since the last newsletter, we have celebrated Christmas in the Norwegian church, with the Christmas market, the tree-lighting ceremony and our  Christmas dinner, where we maintained the tradition of singing and dancing around the tree.

    Our inaugural meeting in June at the Norwegian Church was a great success. We have over sixty members! This is the first edition of our newsletter.
